Organization for Human Rights Meezaan

Meezaan was accredited by the United Nations in 2016. The organisation holds a
consultancy status at the UN’s Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) with which it
submits annual reports on Israeli human rights violations to the UN’s ECOSOC and
connects with other human rights organisations from across the world.
Since 2016, Meezaan has been leading Palestinian delegations to report Israeli human
rights violations to the United Nations’ Human Rights Council in Geneva (Switzerland), to
the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague (Netherlands), and to other relevant
international bodies and United Nations Fact-Finding Missions such as the Goldstone
Mission and others who had used Meezaan’s work as a primary resource in its report
that found Israel guilty of war crimes and violation of Palestinian human rights.
In addition, Meezaan introduces many Palestinian activists and students of international
law to the United Nations’ various programs through conducting workshops and training
programs where applicants are accompanied by Meezaan’s members on short courses
in the aforementioned cities in which offices for the UN and other international bodies
are based. Similarly, Meezaan uses international platforms to mobilise support to the
victims the organisation represents and put international pressure on Israeli courts.
