On Saturday evening, April 12, 2025, Meezaan – Human Rights Organization launched its first legal lecture of the season, as part of a series of awareness-raising lectures scheduled to be held in various locations across the country.
The opening lecture was hosted by the Bilal Bin Rabah Cultural Center in Nazareth and delivered by Attorney Omar Khamaisi, Director of Meezaan , under the title: “Legal Pitfalls in Times of War.”
During the lecture, Attorney Khamaisi addressed a number of pressing legal issues, including arrests, summonses for interrogation, freedom of expression, as well as other legal matters of great relevance to individuals, especially in light of the sensitive circumstances facing the Palestinian community in Israel following the outbreak of the war on October 7, 2023, which is still ongoing and continues to have negative repercussions on society.
The event also featured an open discussion session, where attendees raised questions and shared their concerns. The discussion was moderated by Mr. Muhannad Abu Ahmad, program host at the Bilal Cultural Center.
It is worth noting that Meezaan recently announced the launch of this legal awareness lecture series, which comes as part of its ongoing efforts to promote legal awareness within the community throughout the country.
